‘My creations’ is another side of my creativity away from children’s books. This is an area where I like to experiment with working on different surfaces and scale. I’m constantly pushing myself as an artist and using new materials in new areas of creativity just excites me as you often find yourself way out your comfort zone but delighted with the results.
One of my favourite examples of this are these skateboards. Growing up as a skater and being fascinated by the artwork, I wanted to create my own ‘pro models’ for people.
Sanding back to the original wood but leaving the dents and scratches, just adds to the personality of the owner. Fun for me to work with the concave shape too as you get to ‘warp perspective’ and have limited room for layout. I think they make great wall art.

Murals and canvases are another venture that has been an experience in scaling up my work. I produced a five piece corporate mural for Royal Mail. I used the uniform colour scheme and included hidden postcode numbers relating the the specific areas and a different vehicle on each piece also.
An interior two story ocean themed wall mural for a children’s clinic amongst others.

A range of personalised children’s wall art gave me the opportunity to portray a variety of hobbies and interests and also different lettering styles.

Concrete crafting is skillset that has had me looking from a sculptural point of view. Creating formwork and carving concrete to make the unnatural look natural was rewarding indeed.
